One night only and nationwide - March 23 at 9 pm - the Beastie Boys star in “Awesome; I fucking’ shot that”. It’s a concert documentary mainly shot by 50 fans with hand-held Hi8 cameras at Madison Square Garden 9 October 2004. Show closest to us is the Paramount downtown. I haven’t missed a Beasties show in Vancouver in over 15 years (eek, that sound old) so I’m totally there.

I wasn’t too happy to see the trailer for the remake of the Omen when we went to see “The Hills Have Eyes” last night” (which I won’t review and ruin for the Cupcake).

The original Omen is one of the best thrillers ever made. However, the remake has a decent cast including Liev Schrieder and Mia Farrow so I will wait to pass judgement. It will be hard to hit the creepy standard set by the first so more power to you for trying.

We loved her when she was Sassy.

We were happy when she came back to us and launched Jane, and we faithfully bought the magazine for years, but boy did we get sick of the windbag our Jane Pratt grew up to be, so we were pretty happy when she left as editor last year. But now, chatter is that she is talking to chick-we-also-used-to-love-before-she-forgot-where-she-came-from-and-went-nutty, Gwen Stefani, to start a new magazine.

Jane, if you insist on torturing the world by going on incessantly about your baby, your husband and yourself, please just start a blog and don’t make us spend money on your self-indulgent trash. And don’t ever forget again that it’s not about you - it’s about us.
