How much willpower do I have?

Cycle 6 of America’s Next Top Model starts next Wednesday, March 8. I tried to boycott the end of last season after they voted Kyle off. It was a travesty.

Oh that note, I am considering watching less TV. I have done it in the past. In fact I used to get my cable cut off from May to September of every year. However, cable is included in the LKC rent and I pay extra to get the upper channels I love like Bravo, Showcase and a bunch of Movie Central stations. I justify this extra expense as being far more economical than getting rid of my TV and just renting videos or buying TV series on DVDs.

Stop teasing me, Madge

Madonna’s 2006 summer tour isn’t nailed down yet but today she announced she will perform in the dance tent at the Coachella Music Festival in California. That makes for quite the freakin’ line-up.

Just in case you forget what she looks like:

Rabbits

“Rabbits” was something my mum used to make us say on the first day of every month before we said anything else in the day. Until about two seconds ago when I googled it, I had no idea why after 30 odd years of this custom being in my head.

Rabbits

A luck-bringing custom found all over Great Britain is to say ‘Rabbits’ or ‘White Rabbits’ once or three times on the first day of the month. It must be said early in the morning, before any other word has been uttered, otherwise the charm loses its force.

It is the first day of a new month; therefore you must all consult your March horoscopes to find out what is ahead. That’s an order! The most comprehensive monthly horoscope, and the one I consult regularly, is at Astrology Zone.

Be warned though:

The eclipses are back, and March will be a wild and very difficult month for almost everyone of every sign.

Luckily mine says I am not in the eye of this storm. And that I find my mojo at the end of the month. Good luck to the rest of you.

Oh, the baby!

I was going through my files last night and found a form that tells me my wee Lola needs to go into the vet to be spayed within the next two weeks as per my adoption agreement. This is making me a bit nervous as she seems way too small for major surgery and I also fear her bobble head can’t hold up a cone, but my horoscope says the moon is in my sign therefore I am feeling a bit more emotional than usual.

I really love my vet, especially since she was almost as upset as I was when we had to put Miss Macy down in November. But after all the times Macy was in the clinic for treatments in the years she was sick, the thought of Lola in surgery is a bit terrifying. I know it’s just my brain associating a bad experience with a good place. It does that right now more than it ever has before.

Screw you, I’m not a cat lady

I really need to update folks on life with Lola because she is just so darn cute and it’s rare to live with a kitten (or puppy) in your life so you have to appreciate every minute. If you don’t want to read on, just don’t and stop whining.

Lola has been trying to do everything Salinger can do since day one, and has succeeded in most things since she is a girl after all. However heights without stepping stools have eluded her (except when it comes to jumping into my bike seat).
