Hell hath no fury
Revenge is a dish that should be served cold.
–Anonymous (English proverb)
I used to date all the wrong guys in university. You know the ones that everyone on your floor warns you about in advance because they did ’such and such’ to ’so and so’ last term. In your late teens and early twenties this imparting of information only serves to make a guy more appealing.
Girls “sharing” information with those that may come after them has taken on a whole new life. New web sites like Man Haters and Don’t do it girl have sprung up and are solely dedicated to outing the dogs in your life. You can actually rate your exes - or rate guys you hate for no reason who have done nothing to you but you feel like trashing in public anyway. Sound sane?
I’ve always felt that one person’s opinion on a poor partner is pretty subjective. There are things you could stand to learn about truly bad behavior patterns, but overall, a lot of the time the traits girls warned me about just didn’t play true for me in the same situation. And when things didn’t work out, I certainly didn’t write about him on the bathroom stall at the Pit, at least I don’t recall doing anything like that.
There must be a reason that the mind who thought up the quote above remained anonymous. Revenge shouldn’t be documented for the whole world to see just because you need to vent and someone provided you a venue to do so. Just take a deep breath and wait. Karma’s a bitch, let it take care of itself.
